Was impressed with embroidery on photographs!

Leatheratte

Usually made by covering a fabric base with plastic - the fabric can be natural or syntheticwhich is then covered with a soft PVC layer.

Properties
tough
easy to wash
looks and feels like genuine leather
water resistant

In fire leatheratte may cause serious skin damage as it burns vigourously and melts.
its not breathable

What is Vinyl?

A synthetic manmade material made from ethylene(found in crude oil) and chlorine(found in regular salt):when processed produces PVC polyvinyl chloride

Properties:-

resistant to moisture and humidity
strong and durable plastic material - doesn't easily tear and break
low cost material to produce
can be easily recycled
products made of vinyl has long life span
environmentally friendly(57% common salt-renewable natural substance,43%non-replenishable crude oil
utilizes much lesser energy for manufacture and lower emissions into the environment

Ideas:2D mat turn into Poncho
Zeltbahn-research this-German design.

Mtaerials to use:Vinyl inside lining-velour or velvet-pattern on outside as well as on velvet.Embroider on inside .
Colourways-autumn-red tree in garden-chosen orange/red pattern on green velvet.
Spray paint on vinyl-polycarbanate spray.
Materials purchased from Curtain Fabric Outlet on Ballards Lane-Leatheratte and Velvet.

Moodle Induction/Discovery ideas

Use of different materials and processes to produce a 3d piece.

Take a design and try using on different materials:cotton, silk,polyester etc including wood,plastic......

Print using lino,metal sheet,straight painting....

Suggestion by Neil make a garment.........my idea rain jacket-waterproof material-research whether its possible to do holograms on it.
